50th anniversary of bowling in the UK
Worldwide bowling is enjoyed by more than 100 million people making it the second most commonly played sport after football.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of the first UK bowling centre, Sir Henry Cooper along with the Strictly Come Dancing star Ali Bastion bowled a golden ball down the lanes as he did for the UK’s first lane in 1960.
